Theodore is diagnosed with Level 2 Autism Spectrum Disorder as well as ADHD and faces significant challenges with sensory overload and elopement.
Recently, Theodore’s elopement behaviors have become increasingly severe and have reached a point where they present a serious safety concern. With my husband working seven days a week and our family caring for two additional children—one of whom is only five months old—leaving the house for everyday activities has become extremely difficult. Even essential errands such as grocery shopping can be overwhelming and, at times, nearly impossible.
I truly believe that an autism service dog could significantly improve Theodore’s safety, independence, and overall quality of life. Having that additional support would provide peace of mind and help our family navigate daily activities more confidently.
